The Kubly House, a midcentury modern residence in Pasadena, has been listed again 61 years after it was completed. Craig Ellwood Associates designed the home in 1965 for Don and Sally Kubly.
The approximately 2,277-square-foot house sits on a 0.6-acre site at 215 La Vereda Road, among eucalyptus and oak trees. It is a single-story, elevated wood-and-glass pavilion with extensive glazing facing the landscape.
Unlike Ellwood’s better-known steel-framed projects, the house uses post-and-beam timber construction. The description says that choice was likely tied to an original construction budget of less than $45,000.
